Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts will be out for "some time" after suffering a fracture of a bone in his left wrist when he was hit by a pitch during Sunday's game against the Kansas City Royals, manager David Roberts told reporters.
Betts will not need surgery.
The Dodgers star exited the game after being hit in the left hand/wrist area by a pitch from Dan Altavilla in the seventh inning.
Betts was in the midst of a forgettable game, going 0-for-3 prior to exiting the game. Still, the Dodgers held a 3-0 lead thanks to a pair of home runs by Shohei Ohtani and another solo blast by Freddie Freeman.
