David Price Worth Every Penny For Boston

Forget Price’s $30M average annual value. The Red Sox needed an ace, and they properly ponied up for the best available arm.

With Jordan Zimmermann being the first real free agent domino to fall only days ago, it didn’t take long for the biggest piece to hit the floor.

Yesterday, David Price agreed to a 7-year, $217M contract with the Boston Red Sox, the largest such deal for a pitcher in Major League history. By joining the Red Sox, Price will be playing with his third AL East ball club (Rays, Blue Jays) since July 31 of 2014.
