Los Angeles Angeles third baseman David Freese suffered a fractured right index finger after getting drilled by a pitch from Mike Pelfrey in the fourth inning of Wednesday night's game against the Minnesota Twins, according to MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez.

While there is no definitive timetable for Freese's return just yet, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times expects the third baseman "to be out for a while." Gonzalez added that Freese will wear a splint on the injured finger for the next two weeks.
