Rockies prospect CF David Dahl launched his first home run of the 2015 season on Monday as part of a 2-for-5 performance for Double-A New Britain.
He drove in two runs and also coaxed a walk in the game. Dahl played only 29 games at High-A Modesto last season, but the Rockies clearly believed he was ready to be challenged and assigned him to the Eastern League to open 2015. With the potential for five premium tools, the 21-year-old center fielder is viewed as one of baseball’s better position prospects, though it’s unlikely he debuts before 2016. Apr 14 - 11:44 AM
