Rockies prospect OF David Dahl went 2-for-5 with a home run, triple and two RBI on Wednesday for Double-A New Britain.
Both the home run and triple were the second of the season for Dahl, who’s batting .252/.286/.370 with nine extra-base hits and 11 stolen bases through his first 30 games at the Double-A level. The 21-year-old center fielder got off to a rough start offensively, but Wednesday's two-hit performance extended his hitting streak to 10 games, and he’s batting .333/.349/.524 in 43 plate appearances in that span. Dahl is one of the top outfield prospects in the minor leagues, and it says something that the Rockies assigned him directly to Double-A this year after playing just 29 games at High-A Modesto in 2014.
