The Chicago Cubs are slowly ending their reign of prospect terror.
Shortly after delaying third baseman Kris Bryant’s entrance into the major leagues to keep him from becoming a free agent until 2021, the organization is calling up infielder Addison Russell. Jon Heyman of CBS Sports broke the news:

Though Russell is a shortstop, he’ll likely replace Airsmendy Alcantara and Jonathan Herrera at second base while Tommy La Stella is on the disabled list due to a rib injury.
