CHICAGO -- Chicago Cubs righty Jason Hammel is scheduled to pitch Game 4 of the NLCS against the New York Mets on Wednesday, though Cubs manager Joe Maddon left himself some wiggle room.
"As of right now, it's Hammel, right," Maddon said Monday afternoon during a Cubs workout. "Absolutely, yes."
Maddon didn't indicate what would change that plan, though he's indicated Hammel has been available in the bullpen during the early games of the series. Unless Hammel pitches in relief in Tuesday's Game 3, expect him to take the mound in Game 4.
