The New York Yankees announced Thursday they placed pitcher CC Sabathia on the 10-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.
New York also optioned pitcher Ronald Herrera to Double-A Trenton and noted it recalled pitchers Luis Cessa and Domingo German from Triple-A.
Sabathia suffered the hamstring injury Tuesday in a start against the Los Angeles Angels, per Max Wildstein of Scout, and hasn't been as durable in recent years as he was for most of his career. The southpaw notched at least 200 innings seven seasons in a row from 2007 to 2013, but he tallied just 46 innings in 2014 and hasn't reached the 200-inning mark since the 2013 campaign.
