Boston Red Sox utility player Brock Holt hit for the cycle in Tuesday's 9-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves.
Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald noted how long it had been since a Boston player accomplished what Holt did:
Brock Holt is the first member of the Red Sox to hit for the cycle since John Valentin on June 6, 1996.

Holt, who got the start at second base, doubled to lead off the bottom of the first at Fenway Park, socked a single in the fifth, smashed a home run in the seventh and got the most elusive triple he needed in the eighth.
