The Toronto Blue Jays signed veteran right-hander Daniel Hudson to a one-year major league contract on Monday.
Hudson had been released by the Los Angeles Angels after posting a 6.75 ERA in 6 2/3 innings pitched this spring. He had signed a minor league contract with the Angels this offseason.
The Blue Jays transferred second baseman Devon Travis to the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move. He recently underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.
Hudson, 32, has a 3.99 ERA in nine major league seasons.
