CHICAGO -- Chicago Cubs players enjoyed their victory lap Friday, waving to tens of thousands of fans who poured into the city to attend a parade and rally honoring the first Cubs team to win a World Series title in 108 years.
Troves of jersey-clad fans stood shoulder-to-shoulder in downtown's sprawling Grant Park and along miles of city streets. Crowds near Wrigley Field were several people and congratulatory-signs deep as Cubs players, also clad in their jerseys, left the historic ballpark atop open-roofed buses.
The parade wound through downtown and ended roughly 7 miles south in Grant Park, where a rally started around 12:30 CT.
