Ben Revere: ‘My manhood kind of got hurt a little bit’ on great catch (video)

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Ben Revere has developed a penchant throughout his MLB career for having the flair for the dramatic in the way he goes all-out while making spectacular catches. Oftentimes, such fearlessness in the field can come at the expense of the 26-year-old’s potential well-being.

Revere was back at it again during Monday’s 2-0 loss to the New York Mets at Citi Field, making a phenomenal diving catch during the fifth inning on a ball laced down the left field line by Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson.

While impressive indeed, the catch demonstrated in a painfully clear manner that superhuman catches can sometimes have super-uncomfortable consequences, outcomes much more severe than the presumed soreness that goes along with laying out for diving catches.
