Astros Earn Bizarre Walk-Off Win vs. Padres as Eric Hosmer Misplays Pop-Up

There are heartbreaking ways to lose a game...and then there's the way the San Diego Padres fell to the Houston Astros on Saturday night at Minute Maid Park.

For more than three hours, the two teams were locked in a scoreless duel. Neither team could find a way to cross the plate, so it went to extra innings. Even in the 10th inning, it looked like the game would continue on—but baseball is a funny game.

With Derek Fisher on second with two outs, Houston third baseman Alex Bregman popped the 3-2 pitch sky-high just a few feet in front of the plate.
