Athletics claimed OF Alex Hassan off waivers from the Rangers; optioned him to Triple-A Nashville.
Hassan was designated for assignment by Texas earlier this week. The 27-year-old has been a Quad-A player the last few seasons, finally breaking into the majors with Boston in 2014. This is his second stint with Oakland after being DFA'd in early April. He'll serve as outfield depth. May 2 - 4:15 PM
