The MLB Trade Deadline is just days away, and as a result, trade rumors are flying across the league as talks heat up. The market around pitchers like Yu Darvish and Sonny Gray continue to be the main storyline as we get ready for what is sure to be a hectic close to the week. Here are all the latest MLB trade rumors you need to know.
Yankees hoping Sonny Gray can provide a spark
The New York Yankees are strongly pursuing Sonny Gray in hopes that he can give them a major spark in their playoff push over the next few months, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
The Yankees thought they had assembled a package as good as the one the Cubs used to get Quintana. They would offer less for Gray, but do have a deep system. Gray is attractive — if healthy — because he would provide the strong starting innings that the 2017 Yankees need while adding a desperately needed sure rotation piece moving forward (he cannot be a free agent until after the 2019 season). Oakland is telling clubs that if it does not get an offer it finds legitimate — likely two strong prospects and two lower-level, lottery-ticket types with significant upside — they will hold onto Gray and try to move him in an offseason when the starting pitching free-agent market might not be appealing. Of course, there is a risk that Gray could break down again and lose value.
The Yankees also have been linked to A’s first baseman Yonder Alonso, but that does not appear a front-burner item for them. Instead, they are more fixated on a starter with the idea that it could be a final piece to have them launch, much like the 2015 Blue Jays did down the stretch.
New York also has interest in Justin Verlander, but Gray is their top target. He is 6-4 with a 3.66 ERA with 85 strikeouts is 15 starts this season.
Yu Darvish available for the "right deal"
The Texas Rangers are open to trading pitcher Yu Darvish, but will only trade him for the "right deal," according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.
The Texas Rangers are ready to move ace pitcher Yu Darvish. All it will take is someone to meet their asking price.
Sources told ESPN that Rangers general manager Jon Daniels began calling potential suitors Monday and telling them the team is open to trading Darvish for the "right deal." If no team offers a return package to the Rangers' liking, Daniels has informed clubs that Texas will hold on to Darvish and continue to make a push in the American League wild-card race.
Darvish, who is in the final year of his contract, is 6-8 with a 3.44 ERA and 143 strikeouts in 21 games so far this season.

Red Sox not in market for Giancarlo Stanton
The Miami Marlins aren't actively shopping slugger Giancarlo Stanton, but they are taking offers and could move him before the deadline. Among the teams that have been linked to Stanton are the Boston Red Sox, but Jay Jaffe of Sports Illustrated writes that they aren't actively in the race for him.
They're generally a big payroll team, they have some high-end prospects—such as the just-promoted third baseman Rafael Devers and last year's first-round pick, lefthander Jason Groome—and president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski isn't shy about adding big money players. That said, they've already got a great homegrown outfield of Andrew Benintendi, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Mookie Betts, and owner John Henry has plenty of reason to be wary of big contracts, having been burned in recent years alone by those of third baseman Pablo Sandoval and outfielder Rusney Castillo; heck, the David Price contract isn’t looking too great right now, either. Don't wait up for this possibility.
Stanton is batting .274 with 32 home runs and 68 RBIs in 96 games so far this season.
