The MLB trade deadline of August 1st is rapidly approaching and the MLB trade rumors are starting to heat up. With the deadline less than a week away, teams in the postseason race are focused on improving their rosters before the non-waiver deadline. The sellers, meanwhile, are hoping to find prospects to boost their rebuild. Here are all the latest rumors and news from the MLB hot stove.
Dodgers Want Sale?
It's unclear if the White Sox are willing to part with ace Chris Sale, even after his outburst last week. But if they do, the Dodgers are willing to make a sizeable offer according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
As of Monday, the Dodgers’ sense was the White Sox were not yet motivated to move Chris Sale or even well-regarded No. 2 starter Jose Quintana. But I have heard if that changes, the Dodgers would be more aggressive with Sale than they were with Hamels, up to including top prospect, lefty Julio Urias, to front a strong package.
The Dodgers are in desperate need of starting help, with Clayton Kershaw, Hyun-Jin Ryu and Brett Anderson all injured.
Red Sox Getting Offers?
The Red Sox have already swung a trade for starting pitcher Drew Pomeranz, but might not be done quite yet. They're still getting offers from other teams.

General manage Dave Dombrowski is still open to making deals, but doesn't feel like the club has to do so. However, there's a report that the Red Sox are trying to do something big.
Clubs talking with Red Sox say they're still trying to do "something big." But for what high-end starter? Chris Sale? Sonny Gray? Mystery P?

Bullpen help is also a potential area of need. Boston has the prospects and payroll to make another major move.
Royals' Plans
The Royals are on the outside looking in of the Wild Card race, but general manager Dayton Moore isn't planning a fire sale. That includes players who are set to be free agents.
"We’ll evaluate what a team is potentially offering," Moore told the Kansas City Star. "We’re not going to just dismember our team because players are free agents."
One player who has drawn interest is closer Wade Davis, who will be a free agent after the 2017 season. But don't expect him to be dealt.

In addition to Davis, starter Edinson Volquez, DH/1B Kendrys Morales and reliever Luke Hochevar have drawn interest. They're set to be free agents after this year, and could be dealt if the Royals get a good offer.
