The MLB trade deadline is just one day away, and there are plenty of trade rumors gaining traction. Teams in the postseason race are focused on improving their rosters before the non-waiver deadline. The teams selling are hoping to find prospects to boost their rebuild or even getting rid of some payroll. Here are all the latest rumors and news you need to know.
Rangers back in mix for Lucroy
The Milwaukee Brewers had a deal in place to send star catcher Jonathan Lucroy to the Cleveland Indians, but Lucroy vetoed the trade through his no-trade clause. However, Lucroy still wants to be traded (just not to Cleveland, apparently), and multiple reports say the Texas Rangers have revamped their pursuit of him:
I'm told Rangers having "productive conversations," presumably surrounding Lucroy

Sources: #Rangers strongly in mix for #Brewers’ Lucroy. @Evan_P_Grant said they were back in.

Lucroy is batting .300 with 13 home runs and 50 RBIs this season. He has not played in three of Milwaukee's last four games to avoid injury and preserve his trade value.
Yankees to cut A-Rod?
The New York Yankees are in full on sell-and-rebuild mode after parting ways with both Aroldis Chapman and Andrew Miller, and that may cause them to part ways with another veteran. According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the Yankees are contemplating cutting Alex Rodriguez:
with the sell on and him not playing, some in the organization think it's time to talk about cutting a-rod. not impossible.
— Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) July 31, 2016
Rodriguez has already said that he will retire after the 2017 season, and cutting him means the Yankees would be eating his $21 million salary for next year. However, having him in the lineup - or even just on the roster - would take opportunities away from younger players New York is hoping to develop.
Dodgers looking to deal Puig
Heyman also reports that another big name may not be playing for his current club much longer. The Los Angeles Dodgers are still trying to trade Yasiel Puig before tomorrow's deadline:
word is, dodgers are still trying to move yasiel puig. fielding well this year, but another dropoff in offensive production
— Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) July 31, 2016
Puig is batting .254 with seven homers and 32 RBIs in 80 games this season.
