The MLB started a new system this year with a single trade deadline on July 31st, rather than the July 31 “non-waiver deadline” followed by the August 31st “waiver deadline,” which made trades possible up until the end of August. The August deadline use to give front offices more time to evaluate talent and their teams. Now with this strict deadline we could see a lot more action today. That makes the MLB Trade Deadline Time of 4p ET today even more important.
