The MLB trade deadline of August 1st is rapidly approaching, and the trade rumors are starting to heat up. With the All-Star game out of the way, the trade deadline is now the biggest event next up on the calendar. Here are all the latest rumors and news from the MLB hot stove.
If new rumors emerge, we'll update this post.
White Sox Want A CF?
With Austin Jackson's timetable in his recovery from knee surgery in June still unclear, the White Sox are looking for a center fielder.
Sources: #WhiteSox, unsure of Austin Jackson’s prognosis, are checking into possible trades for CFer. Jackson had knee surgery on June 10.

The White Sox are two games over .500 and pushing for a wild card spot. They do have Adam Eaton, who can play center if they can't swing a trade. However, he's better defensively in right field.
Mets Looking For Bullpen Help?
The Mets could go a few different ways at the trade deadline, but the New York Post reports their primary target is bullpen help. Because of the presence of Addison Reed and Jeurys Familia, the Mets aren't necessarily going after a top-end reliever.
That reliever, according to a club source, doesn’t necessarily have to be a higher-end option in the mold of Tyler Clippard, whom the Mets acquired for the stretch run last year. But names such as San Diego’s Ryan Buchter and Brad Hand could appeal to the Mets, along with Oakland’s John Axford and Atlanta’s Chris Withrow. If the Mets wanted to make a play on another team’s closer, Milwaukee’s Jeremy Jeffress could be a possibility.
If the Mets don't get Zack Wheeler back from Tommy John surgery as expected, the Post says the Mets could go get another starter. Adding a bat is also an option for the Mets.
Yankees Torn On Trading Key Players?
The Yankees are 44-44, but on the outside looking in of the Wild Card race. That makes them potential sellers at the trade deadline, but ESPN reports the front office is torn on whether to trade away players. General Manager Brian Cashman wants to sell, but owner Hal Steinbrenner and president Randy Levine think the team can still make the postseason.
According to the source, the baseball people would be willing to trade the core of the team, players such as closer Aroldis Chapman, first baseman Mark Teixeira, starting pitchers Nathan Eovaldi and Ivan Nova, and right fielder Carlos Beltran, who has been the team's best hitter all season and its only position player to make the All-Star team.
In addition, the Yankees would like to deal Jacoby Ellsbury and/or Brian McCann, but their contracts make that unlikely. New York would also listen to teams asking about reliever Andrew Miller, but the price of the All-Star will be high. The Yankees could elect to delay a decision on whether to sell until the deadline is closer.
