The MLB offseason has been relatively quiet to this point, but that should change during baseball's winter meetings starting on Dec. 9, which is where much of the foundation for offseason trades and other acquisitions take place. As such, the rumor mill is buzzing with potential free agent signings and trade talks, especially around the future of Giancarlo Stanton. Here are all the latest MLB rumors you need to know.
Giancarlo Stanton waiting on Dodgers
The San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals have both made offers to the Miami Marlins for Giancarlo Stanton, both places he has said he would not prefer to be traded to. Stanton can control where he goes since he has a full no-trade clause, and as such, he is waiting to see how much interest the Los Angeles Dodgers have, according to MLB Network's Jon Morosi.
On Giancarlo Stanton and #Dodgers, I wrote last week, “Stanton appears inclined to wait for complete clarity [on #Dodgers interest] before fully embracing other alternatives.” That remains true. @MLBNetwork @MLB

Stanton has met with both the Giants and Cardinals and is reconsidering both teams after Miami reportedly told him that, if he doesn't accept a trade, the team will deal their other key players to save salary and he will be the lone star on their team as they go through another rebuild.
Red Sox out of Stanton race
One team that is showing decreased interest in Stanton is the Boston Red Sox, as SiriusXM's Craig Mish reports they have decided to end their pursuit of him.

A large number of teams plan to pursue Ohtani, headlined by the Red Sox, New York Yankees, and Chicago Cubs.
Ohtani hopes to both pitch and be an everyday position player in the majors. He is 41-15 with a 2.56 ERA in his career as a pitcher in Japan, but also has a .332/.403/.540 batting line with eight home runs and 35 RBIs in 65 games this season despite being limited with foot injuries.
