The 2016 MLB Hot Stove continues to sizzle with a litany of new free agency and trade rumors hitting wire. We're here to sift through the latest and most interesting of the bunch with our MLB Rumors Roundup For January 13th.
Several Teams Want Carlos Gonzalez?
The Rockies' signing of Gerardo Parra was an indication that the team could trade one of their current outfielders.
Sources: teams to inquire this winter about Cargo include Bal, STL, CWS, LAA, SF, Wash (SF, Wash have since acquired an OF)
— Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) January 13, 2016
The Orioles and Angels were mentioned again by Heyman in a follow-up tweet. Gonzalez is the best of the Rockies' current outfielders and he'd likely fetch the most in a trade.
Royals Targeting Ian Kennedy?
The Kansas City Royals are still searching for starting rotation help and they might have narrowed their search down.
Royals seem very focused on Kennedy. Good yanks connection there w/excellent pitching coach eiland. Others still in tho.

The Royals are also talking with Yovani Gallardo, reports Ken Rosenthal, but the Royals are "serious" about Kennedy. The connection Heyman mentions is that the Royals' current pitching coach worked with Kennedy in the Yankees' system. Signing either Kennedy or Gallardo would cost the Royals their first round pick.
Rays Talking Trades?
The Tampa Bay Rays appear to be sellers this offseason and they've increased trade talks.
Sources: #Rays involved in “many” active trade conversations on both starters and relievers as free-agent pitching market thins out.

Relievers Brad Boxberger and Jake McGee are on the block, reports ESPN's Jerry Crasnick. The Cubs remain in contact with the Rays, according to Jim Bowden. The Cubs were linked to Alex Cobb earlier, but Bowden suggests Jake Odorizzi could be the best fit. Chicago is trying avoid giving up Jorge Soler or Javier Baez.
Astros Interested In Ender Inciarte?
The Atlanta Braves traded for Inciarte earlier this offseason, and other teams are already looking to snag the outfielder.
The #Astros have inquired on #Braves CF Ender Inciarte. Presumably would have to move Carlos Gomez to make a deal work.
— Jerry Crasnick (@jcrasnick) January 13, 2016
Gomez is already in centerfield, so it's not clear just how much interest the Astros have. This might just be the team doing their due diligence.
Mets Staying In Contact With Cespedes
Yoenis Cespedes is hoping for a hefty contract this offseason. The Mets won't give him one, but they are staying in contact with the outfielder.
mets have been thought willing to do 2-3 yr deal w/ cespedes. very unlikely to work. but cant hurt to stay in contact.
— Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) January 13, 2016
On the off chance Cespedes can't get more money and years elsewhere, then the Mets might be able to bring him back.
