The MLB Winter Meetings have started, which means the rumor mill is buzzing with potential signings, targets, and trades. Two of the biggest names in the sport have already switched teams with the Los Angeles Angels signing Shohei Ohtani and the New York Yankees acquiring Giancarlo Stanton in a trade with the Miami Marlins, but there are still plenty of big names out there that figure to be on the move. Here are all the latest MLB rumors you need to know.
Mets looking to trade Matt Harvey
Given Matt Harvey's struggles both on the mound and with injury over the past couple of seasons, the New York Mets are looking to trade him this offseason, according to Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News.
"They are willing to move him," one source said, "and they said they wanted to try and flip him for a reliever. They seemed more willing to move him then (Robert) Gsellman or (Seth) Lugo."
The Baltimore Orioles are one possible destination for him, especially since they are shopping star closer Zach Britton.
Harvey went 5-7 with a 6.70 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 19 appearances last season, including eight starts.

Astros targeting three top-end starting pitchers
The Houston Astros made it a point to upgrade their starting pitching at the trade deadline by landing Justin Verlander, and they're looking to acquire another ace this offseason. According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Houston is hoping to sign either Yu Darvish or Jake Arrieta, or trade for Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Chris Archer.
The Astros have shown interest in free agent righties Yu Darvish and Jake Arrieta, and also might explore the trade market if a pitcher such as Tampa Bay righty Chris Archer becomes available, according to major league sources.
Along with trying to repeat as World Series champs, Houston is hoping that one of these pitchers will be able to be the No. 1 guy in their rotation should Dallas Kuechel, who will be a free agent after the 2018 season, decides to sign elsewhere.

Yankees looking to trade Jacoby Ellsbury
Getting Stanton was a no-brainer for the Yankees, especially considering what the Yankees gave up. But with Stanton in New York, it does create a bit of a log-jam in the outfield, and as such, they're trying to trade Jacoby Ellsbury.
"The addition of Stanton gives the Yankees five outfielders for three spots," George A. King III of the New York Post writes. "The DH will be rotated among the outfielders but there remains one too many. So, expect Cashman to try and find a team to take center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury even if the Yankees have to eat a lot of the $68.3 million remaining on his contract that has three years left."
Ellsbury has been linked to both the Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox, though it remains to be seen if either of those clubs would be willing to take back his contract.
The 11-year pro hit .264 with seven home runs and 39 RBIs in 112 games this season.
