The MLB rumor mill is going strong thanks to the Winter Meetings, and many big players could potentially be on the move. Baltimore Orioles star Manny Machado is the most prominent name that is expected to be moved, but a former MVP could be entering his final season with his current team as well. Here are all the latest MLB rumors you need to know.
Orioles want to prevent Manny Machado from ending up with Yankees
The New York Yankees have been one of three teams that have been heavily pursuing a trade for Machado, along with the Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals. However, if the White Sox acquired Machado, they were willing to trade him again at the deadline if he did not agree to sign long-term with the franchise (Machado is set to be a free agent after the 2018 season) - with New York being the most logical suitor at that time.
However, the Orioles are so determined not to have Machado end up on the Yankees that they will only deal him to a team that will not later flip him to New York, according to Dan Clark of The Big Leagues Daily.
LATEST: The #Orioles want to trade Manny Machado and will only not occur if Peter Angelos vetoes it. They won't trade directly with the Yankees and want confidence he doesn't end up on-traded there. Risky, and potentially messy. O's fans understandably nervous.

Machado batted .259 with 33 homers and 95 RBIs in 156 games this past season.
Nationals expect Bryce Harper to become a free agent
Washington Nationals star Bryce Harper is also set to be a free agent after the 2018 season - the headliner in a loaded class - and while the Nats have tried to re-sign him, they expect him to test the open market, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.
The Washington #Nats say they are realistic and firmly believe that Bryce Harper is set to test free agency next winter after casual conversations last month. They still hope to re-sign him, but only after he tests the free agent market

Harper hit .319 with 29 home runs and 87 RBIs in 111 games last season.
