We're nearing the end of the first week of January, and we still have a lack of clarity surround several big-name free agents in Major League Baseball. Things should clear up as the days dwindle down in advance of Spring Training, and speculation will be the name of the game until then. With that said, here's our MLB Rumors Roundup For January 7th.
Marlins & Rangers Trade?
The Marlins and Rangers were reportedly engaged in trade talks centered around OF Marcell Ozuna. However, those talks don't appear to be going anywhere.
Sources: Talks between #Rangers and #Marlins on Ozuna, on and off for the past month, have yet to significantly advance.

#Marlins, per @clarkspencer, have talked Ozuna for RHP Chi Chi Gonzalez and maybe one more. But #Rangers need to add pitching, not subtract.

The Marlins appear willing to deal Ozuna, and could end up finding a taker before the end of the offseason.
Fernando Rodney In Talks?
Several teams are reportedly in talks with reliever Fernando Rodney.

Rodney struggled badly with the Mariners last year, posting a 5.68 ERA in 54 games with 16 saves. However, he was much better with the Cubs at the end of the season. In 14 games, Rodney allowed just one earned run.
Mark Buehrle Not Playing This Year?
Buehrle posted a 15-8 record with a 3.81 ERA with the Blue Jays last season, but might not play this year.
Source: Mark Buehrle currently not planning on playing next season but is not ready to officially announce retirement.

Buehrle will soon turn 37, so he doesn't have many years left. He's a Missouri native, so it might take interest from the Cardinals to get Buehrle to pitch this year.
