With just over one week to go until pitchers and catchers report, the MLB Hot Stove is ramping up with a litany of juicy rumors. We're here to highlight the most interesting of the bunch with our MLB Rumors Roundup For Feb. 9th.
Gallardo to choose between three teams
Yovani Gallardo is arguably the best pitcher remaining on the free agent market, and SB Nation's Chris Cotillo tweets that three teams are in talks for him. The Baltimore Orioles appear to be the frontrunner to land him, but Cotillo doesn't say who the two other teams pursing Gallardo are. The Houston Astros dropped out of the race after signing Doug Fister and the Colorado Rockies have reportedly backed off.
Gallardo has thrown at least 180 innings in each of the last seven seasons and was 13-11 with a 3.42 ERA last year for the Texas Rangers.
Rays now a "long shot" to sign Desmond
Free agent shortstop Ian Desmond has been linked to the Tampa Bay Rays all offseason, but that doesn't appear to be happening, according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.
#Rays are still bargain shopping. But barring a change of heart, Ian Desmond is a long shot. They don't want to give up draft pick.

Desmond batted .233 with 19 home runs and 62 RBIs in 156 games with the Washington Nationals last season.
Marlins eyeing pitching, Lincecum a target?
