Spring Training sites in Arizona and Florida are bustling with activity right now, with the overall focus finally shifting from MLB front offices to the players on the field. However, there's still plenty of residual heat from the MLB Hot Stove to work through. With that in mind, here is our MLB Rumors Roundup For February 28th.
Pirates haven't talked extension with Gerrit Cole
Pittsburgh Pirates ace Gerrit Cole was upset when the club renewed his salary for just $541,000 this season, and they don't seem interested in giving him the raise he's looking for anytime soon. According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Rob Biertempfel, the Pirates have not talked with Cole about a long-term deal with the team.
FWIW, I'm told by sources that #Pirates have NOT approached Cole about a multi-year extension, either this year or previous years.

The 25-year-old Cole was Pittsburgh's best starting pitcher last year, posting a 19-8 record with a 2.60 ERA - both of which were team highs.
Brewers shopping Lucroy?
Jonathan Lucroy has been one of the better catchers in the majors over the last four years, but the Milwaukee Brewers seem ready to part ways with the 29-year-old. According to the Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo, many scouts see the Brewers shopping Lucroy as they continue their rebuild.
There’s still buzz in the scouting community that Lucroy could be moved in spring training. There are plenty of teams looking for a catcher, and Lucroy is the best available at the moment. The Brewers are exploring moving Lucroy for prospects.
Lucroy hit .264 with seven home runs and 43 RBI's in 103 games last season.
Tigers interested in Tim Lincecum?
The Detroit Tigers could be looking to add to their pitching staff and plan to look at free agent Tim Lincecum during his showcase for teams, according to ESPN's Katie Strang.
Pitching remains on Tigers radar. Team will be among the clubs on hand when Tim Lincecum holds showcase.

Lincecum is expected to hold his showcase within the next week or two. He is recovering from hip surgery he had in September.
Lincecum went 7-4 with a 4.13 ERA in 15 appearances last season with the San Francisco Giants.
