Rangers "Ramped Up" Pursuit Of Cain
The Texas Rangers have "ramped up their pursuit" of free agent outfielder Lorenzo Cain according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.
The Rangers aren't the only team interested in Cain, the Toronto Blue Jays and Milwaukee Brewers have also shown interest.
The 31-year-old batted .300/.363/.440 with 15 home runs and 26 stolen bases in 155 games with the Kansas City Royals last season.
Orioles Aren't Happy With Manny Machado Offers
According to Tony Massarotti of 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston, the Baltimore Orioles "aren't getting close to what they want" in trade offers for star third baseman Manny Machado.
There are many teams interested in Machado, but Robert Murray of FanRag Sports says the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox are the most likely to land him.
Machado is a free agent at the end of 2018 and will likely seek a contract worth more than $300 million on the open market.
Nationals Interested in Christian Yelich
Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports, the Washington Nationals are among the teams showing interest in Miami Marlins outfielder Christian Yelich. Washington is also showing interest in Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto and Frisaro hints that Yelich could be acquired through a "mega package".
The 26-year-old has drawn trade interest this offseason from multiple clubs, including the Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, Chicago White Sox, and Philadelphia Phillies.
The former first-round selection in the 2010 MLB draft batted .282 with 18 home runs and 81 RBIs over 156 games last season.
