The World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros is still on-going, but for the rest of the MLB, it's the offseason. That means the rumor mill is buzzing with manger changes and trade talks. There remains plenty of rumors around the future of Giancarlo Stanton, but there's also talk the Chicago Cubs could complete a big trade. Here are all the latest MLB rumors you need to know.
Nationals Hire Manager
The Washington Nationals have their new manager.
BREAKING: Nationals have finalized deal with Davey Martinez. Three years and an option, according to a person familiar with the situation.

The 53-year old Martinez was the Cubs' bench coach. The former player also coached for the Tampa Bay Rays. The Nationals picked Martinez over John Farrell and they also showed interest in new Red Sox manager Alex Cora. Martinez replaces the fired Dusty Baker.
Cubs Open To Big Trades
The Cubs want pitching help. And with their farm system thin, they're prepared to trade away a big name or two to get it. Phil Rogers of MLB.com reports that the Cubs are open to dealing players like Addison Russell, Javier Baez, Kyle Schwarber, Ian Happ and/or Albert Almora in order to get pitching help. The likes of Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant remain untouchable for the Cubs. Rogers adds some names of pitchers the Cubs could target: Chris Archer, Michael Fulmer, Marcus Stroman, Aaron Nola and Sean Manaea. Rogers finally adds that Schwarber and Almora might be the least likely to be dealt.
Giancarlo Stanton Update
The Miami Marlins seemed primed to deal Giancarlo Stanton and some contenders are emerging. Here's what USA Today's Bob Nightengale told KNBR in a recent interview.
"Yeah I still believe they are, and I’d be shocked if they [the San Francisco Giants] don’t have Stanton or J.D. Martinez playing for them next year," Nightengale said. "It’s going to be one of those guys for sure. You know they’ve got plenty of money, they don’t have prospects. Obviously, if you sign Martinez, it doesn’t cost you any prospects, and same with Stanton. The Marlins want to dump his salary so bad, you’ve just got to eat most of it. Not $285 million worth, but $200 or $225 worth and then give them some fringe prospects, because they just don’t have those top quality prospects. The Dodgers have no interest. They are trying to cut payroll and everything else. He’s not going to the Dodgers, there’s no chance of that happening, so I think it’s either San Francisco, St. Louis or Philadelphia, and San Francisco is easily his first choice."
Stanton is from Los Angeles, but if they have no interest, then it appears the Cardinals, Phillies and Giants are the top threats. All three teams missed the postseason this year and need a big bat. Stanton is fresh off a 59 home run season, but his massive contract and injury history will tank his value.
