The MLB Trade Deadline is just days away on July 31st, and as a result, trade rumors are flying across the league as talks heat up. The market around pitchers like Yu Darvish and Sonny Gray continue to be the main storyline as we get ready for a flurry of moves. Here are all the latest MLB trade rumors you need to know.
Yankees could land Sonny Gray by Friday
The New York Yankees remain active in talks to upgrade their starting rotation with top-tier pitcher before the trade deadline, and they continue to work towards a blockbuster deal with the Oakland Athletics. According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the Yankees are expected to land Sonny Gray by the end of the week.
Yankees and A’s top baseball people spoke again Tuesday, and the best news for the Yanks may be that they are one of a small field that remain alive with a trade likely only a few days off. Someone with ties to the A’s suggested he believed a deal would be done by Friday or so.
Oakland wants prospect Estevan Florial included in the deal. Gray is 6-5 with a 3.43 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 16 starts this season, and he can't become a free agent until after the 2019 season.
