The MLB hot stove has cooled off now that the non-waiver trade deadline has passed. However, there are still some rumblings around the MLB, especially with waiver trade deadline of August 31st rapidly approaching. With that in mind, here are all the latest MLB rumors and news you need to know.

Puig can be pulled back off at any time and Rosenthal thinks it's unlikely a trade will get done.
Puig trade more likely in off-season, when #Dodgers could negotiate with 29 teams rather than one - assuming he is claimed, which is likely.

Puig has looked great in Triple-A, hitting .375. While that is against lower pitching, it's a promising sign. The biggest issue for Puig remains his maturity. The White Sox are among the teams that have reportedly had interest in Puig.
No Jeremy Hellickson Trade?
It appears that any trade involving Jeremy Hellickson before the deadline won't be happening. CSN Philly reports the Phillies have pulled Hellickson back from trade waivers after they weren't able to get a deal done with the team that claimed him. That makes Hellickson ineligible to be traded this season and he'll be a free agent this offseason. However, the Phillies would get draft picks if Hellickson rejects the team's qualifying offer.
Could Stanton Return?
The Miami Marlins have not shut the door on OF Giancarlo Stanton returning before the season ends. Stanton hopes to make it back for the last week of the season as he recovers from a groin injury. Jon Heyman says there's at least a chance.
word is, giancarlo stanton could be back last week of season, if things go "absolutely perfect." #marlins

That's a pretty big "if" and a return still seems like a long-shot. The Marlins are 1.5 games back for the NL Wild Card race.
