The 2016 MLB Draft is nearly here and there are plenty rumors floating around. The first round starts at 7 p.m. ET tonight, and much of the buzz is centered on which players could go where. With that in mind, here are the latest MLB draft rumors and news.
Braves Have A Deal In Place?
The Atlanta Braves have the No. 3 overall pick and might already know who they're taking.
Source: Braves have a deal in place with Ian Anderson for the third pick, but they are still considering other options.

Taking Anderson would be the Braves trying to save money. He'd sign a below-slot deal, which would help the Braves spend more money on their other picks this year. If the Braves don't pick Anderson, he could slide out of the top 10.
Braves Want Groome Too?
If the Braves take Anderson at No. 3, they could target a falling pitcher with the No. 40 pick.
Word is that Groome could be in freefall today & asking price is huge. Teams like Atlanta think if they can save $ early he's in play later

Latest buzz is it may be a wild day for Jason Groome. #Braves trying to land him at 40 if they get Anderson at 3. Wow, would be a huge haul

The lefty was one of the early favorites to go No. 1 in this year's draft, but his stock slid after a rough senior year. The 17-year-old high schooler has the traits scouts drool over, but his asking price could be a major issue. If he does slide, some team could end up with one of the best pitcher prospects at a slot well below where he should go based solely on talent.
Rockies Top Target?
Picking one slot after the Braves, it seems the Colorado Rockies also know who they're going to pick.
Strongest buzz I have yet today is the #Rockies are all over Riley Pint at 4. Seems like their #1 target. #MLBDraft
— Frankie Piliere (@FPiliereD1) June 9, 2016
Pint is an 18-year-old high school pitcher and will surely be a Top 10 pick if the Rockies don't take him.
Delvin Perez Sliding?
High school shortstop was strongly in the mix to be a top 10 pick just a few days ago. But a failed drug test for PEDs has caused his stock to plummet, according to Baseball America. The talent is still there for Perez, which is why he'll still likely go in the Top 10. But just how far Perez slides will be among the most intriguing topics of the 2016 MLB Draft.
Brewers Locked In On Corey Ray?
Yet another Top 5 team reportedly has a top target in mind. The Milwaukee Brewers are picking No. 5 and want OF Corey Ray.
Top target for #Brewers still appears to be Corey Ray. On him since the beginning and leaning that way today #MLBDraft
— Frankie Piliere (@FPiliereD1) June 9, 2016
Of course, if one of the other gifted OFs like Mickey Moniak or Kyle Lewis fall to the Brewers, Ray might not end up being the pick.
