Lenny Dykstra spent 12 years in the MLB, playing for the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets. He was a three-time all-star with the Phillies and won a World Series with the Mets in 1986. Now, he claims to be a male gigolo of sorts.
In an interview on the Howard Stern Show, Dykstra revealed he's paid by women to provide "companionship." Dysktra says he has three older "clients" who pay him to spend time with them and out to dinner at times. Essentially, Dykstra is now a gigolo, or a male escort.
Dykstra was on the show in an effort to promote his new tell-all book "House of Nails." The book details the shady side of Dykstra's baseball career, especially his use of steroids and drugs.
The 53-year-old Dykstra has been through quite a bit since his playing days ended. He was arrested and charged three different times in 2012, with an arrest for grand theft auto, falsifying financial records and cocaine and ecstasy possession the most notable arrest. He pled out to those charges and was sentenced to three years in jail. He served less than seven months and was released in 2013.
Dykstra was named in the Mitchell Report as a steroid user. He's admitted to using steroids while in the MLB to maintain a competitive edge.
