With spring training in full swing and the regular season fast approaching, the MLB host stove is heating up. While there are a few trade rumors circulating around the league, most of the news centers around injuries - including a potentially devastating one for the Boston Red Sox. Here are all the latest MLB rumors you need to know from Chat Sports:
David Price may need Tommy John surgery
Red Sox pitcher David Price is experiencing soreness in his elbow, and manager John Farrell says there is serious concern about just how much pain Price is in. According to ESPN's Jim Bowden, Boston thinks Price may need Tommy John surgery.

Price, 31, signed a record-setting seven-year, $217 million with the Red Sox last offseason. He went 17-9 with a 3.99 ERA and 228 strikeouts last season.
Four teams interested in Jose Quintana
Another pitcher whose name is in the news - and has been all offseason - is the White Sox's Jose Quintana. Chicago has been looking to trade their talented pitchers, and four teams are at the forefront of trying to get a deal done, according to Bruce Levine of CBS.
The Astros, Cardinals, Pirates and Yankees are teams believed to be dug into the sweepstakes for the 28-year-old Quintana, who’s on the trade block as the White Sox have embarked on a rebuild. The White Sox’s focus in a potential Quintana trade is the quality of prospects they get in return, not the quantity, sources said.
“As we sit here right now, it’s more a function of continuing on the conversations we have had,” White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said earlier in the week. “We will see if we can build off of those.”
Quintana, 28, went 13-12 with a 3.20 ERA and 181 strikeouts in 32 appearances last season.

Knee injury the end of Josh Hamilton's career?
Texas Rangers outfield Josh Hamilton had knee surgery late last week, and it will take six weeks of rehab before he can even start running again. While that injury may be inconsequential to the Rangers, Demetrius Bell of SB Nation writes the injury may signal the end of Hamilton's career.
This isn't particularly bad news for the Rangers. Hamilton was always a long shot to even make the major-league squad coming out of spring training, and anybody who's signed to a minor-league deal is probably not going to have a major impact on their team's chances in that upcoming season. So it's highly unlikely that Texas is going to miss a guy who missed the entirety of 2016 and only hit .253/.291/.441 with eight home runs and 94 wRC+ over just 50 games in 2015.

Instead, it's a bit of a bummer for fans of Hamilton himself that it appears that this could be the end of the line for him. Although he never reached the lofty heights of his initial time in Texas during his run with the Angels, it's hard to forget that he overcame plenty of personal demons just to even reach those heights with the Rangers. The injury-proneness that dogged him for most of his time as a player may have finally claimed his career, and it's a bit of a shame that this is how one of the most fascinating stories in baseball is coming to an end.
This year is the last of the five-year, $125 million contract that Hamilton signed with the Los Angeles Angels as a free agent following the 2012 season.
