Texas Rangers' star pitcher Yu Darvish just missed the first no-hitter of his MLB career on Friday night, giving up a single to the Boston Red Sox's David Ortiz with two outs in the bottom of the ninth.
Darvish had a perfect game going into the top of the 7th, but a controversial error by right fielder Alex Rios allowed Boston's David Ortiz to reach safely at first.
Despite losing the perfect game and the no-no, Darvish was absolutely electric -- walking just two and striking out double-digit Red Sox batters before being robbed of baseball history.
We will have more on this story, including post-game interviews, as it develops.
