Takashi Toritani holds the Japanese record for consecutive games without missing an inning by a shortstop at 1444, but that streak might be over - Toritani let the Hanshin Tigers that he'd be leaving to try his luck in America back in October.
There's been very little news on Toritani since, but Japanese newspapers reported Thursday that four teams - Baltimore, Washington, Houston and Toronto - are in the mix for Toritani, with Toronto currently leading the race. A deal is expected by December 31.
Toritani, who turned 33 this June, has a .285 batting average in eleven seasons in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball league.
