The Chicago White Sox have been shopping star first baseman Jose Abreu this offseason, and while they're not in any real hurry to deal him, it's expected that he'll be playing for a different team in 2018. So, who are his most likely suitors? Here are the top three:
3) Colorado Rockies
Colorado is hoping to build on last year's playoff appearance by adding a few high-quality players this offseason, and they've at least expressed some interest in Abreu, according to multiple reports. Coors Field is the ultimate hitters ballpark, which would mean Abreu's power numbers (33 home runs) would likely skyrocket.
2) Texas Rangers
The Rangers continue to look for ways to solidify their lineup to compete for a playoff spot again next year, and they've already been linked to Abreu. Texas has been using Joey Gallo out of position at first base this year, and Abreu would give them a natural at the position along with another power bat.
1) Boston Red Sox
Boston hasn't been shy about their desire to add another power bat to their lineup that desperately needs one, and that has led to them having preliminary trade talks with Chicago about Abreu. The Red Sox are also trying to sign J.D. Martinez in free agency, and he appears to be their main priority right now. However, if they don't get him or think he's too expensive, expect them to really ramp up their pursuit of Abreu.
