The 2020 MLB Trade Deadline was unlike any other, especially since it was later in the calendar than usual thanks to the limited 2020 MLB Season. And with the MLB playoffs expanded this year, more teams were aggressive at the trade deadline and it once again led to a few at (or after) the buzzer trades. The 2020 MLB trade deadline winners and losers feature teams like the San Diego Padres, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers and New York Yankees.
No team was featured more in the MLB Trade Deadline tracker than the San Diego Padres. They made 5 different trades adding a total of 9 new players. They got perhaps the top available player in Mike Clevinger, but also picked up players like Austin Nola, Mitch Moreland and Trevor Rosenthal.

MLB Trade rumors were quiet around teams like the New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals because they didn’t make any major moves. And being in the middle of the playoff race, that makes them losers.
MLB Trade deadline winners also include the Reds and Cubs, who made MLB news with last second trades. The Cubs got Cameron Maybin and bullpen help, with the Reds landed a new closer in Archie Bradley and somehow got rid of Josh VanMeter.
MLB Trade deadline losers are headline by the Texas Rangers. Sure, they traded away Mike Minor, but made the same mistake they did last year. Not selling high on a pitcher (Lance Lynn) as they rebuild.
