COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Rock M was a slightly different shade of white from the snowy hill surrounding it. A few small but determined John Deere plows built up snowbanks surrounding the field. Leaf blowers took care of the yard lines and hashmarks, but the artificial green was splattered with a slick layer of snow.
So went the snow game.
Heavy flakes fell from the sky above Columbia consistently from shortly after daybreak to right around kickoff of Missouri’s Saturday victory over Arkansas. The snowfall complicated fans’ commutes to Memorial Stadium, packed onto the facility’s stairwells and dominated pregame warm-ups.
