COLUMBIA, Mo. — When Larissa Anderson was tasked to lead a new era of Missouri softball back in 2018, she put a picture of the Women’s College World Series on a board.
That’s been her team’s goal since she was hired and one Missouri narrowly fell short of last year after losing a winner-take-all game to James Madison in the NCAA Super Regionals. This year’s team is ranked No. 11 nationally and should have the Tigers’ best shot since Anderson took over. Of the nine hitters with the most at-bats last season, eight opted to return.
The Tigers, 42-17 last year, aren’t making that goal out to seem any bigger than it is.
