Missouri fans weren’t the only ones thrilled to see Michael Porter Jr. return to the floor Thursday in the Southeastern Conference tournament. For a few weeks last spring Kentucky freshman forward Kevin Knox considered playing with Porter at Mizzou, and even though he chose another school in the SEC, the freshman forward hoped he’d see his pal on the court this season.
Back surgery kept Porter and Knox from reuniting on the floor during the regular season, and MU’s loss to Georgia here Thursday spoiled a Mizzou-Kentucky showdown in the quarterfinals. But Knox was happy to watch Porter make his long-awaited return.
