COLUMBIA, MO. • When he first arrived on Mizzou’s campus three years ago, Jordan Geist got some strange looks from future teammates.
This dude came from Ranger College in Texas by way of Fort Wayne, Ind. He had just earned second-team junior college All-American honors and caught the eye of Missouri’s staff at the juco national tournament. Geist didn’t have any major conference offers out of high school, and Missouri was the first to take serious interest after the juco detour. Kim Anderson’s staff liked him as a combination guard, a capable backup who’d play defense and share the ball.
