Entering the 2024 season, Mizzou Tiger football fans were primed to witness a potentially historic season on the gridiron. While much of that history is still yet to be written, Tiger fans were presented with a historic moment they were not expecting, nor hoping for: a truly unprecedented 2nd down and 59 yards to go for the Mizzou Tiger offense.
While the Tigers’ ultimate victory over Boston College rendered this oddity a potential delight unto fans rather than a pox on the house of Eli Drinkwitz, the circumstances leading to the 49 penalty yards in three snaps are not so fun.
