Missouri's baseball team missed a chance to bolster its NCAA Tournament resume Tuesday with a 4-2 first-round SEC Tournament loss to South Carolina. A win or two in the tournament would have significantly improved the program's NCAA chances because neutral-site games are heavily weighted on the RPI scale.
With Steve Bieser's program now having to wait until Monday's NCAA Selection Show to learn its fate, here's the good and bad of the team's current resume. Missouri currently looks like a longshot to make the cut.
The pros:
Missouri (34-22) has 14 wins against RPI top-50 teams, the second-most nationally.
