COLUMBIA, Mo. — The losses are piling up along with the minutes for Missouri’s beleaguered basketball team. The Tigers play their fourth game in eight days Tuesday when No. 17 Tennessee visits Mizzou Arena, the end of a week-long slog that’s sure to test the undermanned Tigers’ legs, possibly their will.
With only eight healthy players available for the last two weeks, Mizzou (10-17, 4-10 Southeastern Conference) doesn’t have the luxury of rest or reserves when the Volunteers (19-7, 10-4) visit. Coming into the 6 p.m. tipoff against one of the country’s elite defensive teams, coach Cuonzo Martin’s core players have logged heavy minutes in the last three losses.
