Cuonzo Martin believes Missouri added two four-star players in the early signing period who can can add another dimension to his basketball program next season. As expected Vashon guard Mario McKinney and forward Tray Jackson of Michigan submitted their national letters of intent on Wednesday, becoming the first pieces of Martin’s 2019 recruiting class.
Jackson, a 6-8 Detroit native who, like many of Martin’s additions, was pledged elsewhere before choosing Mizzou, first committed to Minnesota before he changed his mind last month. McKinney, a Post-Dispatch All-Metro standout with Mizzou bloodlines, committed to Martin’s staff in September.
“They’re guys who can make plays off the dribble,” Martin said Wednesday before leaving Columbia for the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands.
