As we head into August, here’s a look at how Missouri baseball players have fared this in collegiate summer leagues:
Tanner Houck, Collegiate National Team: For the second straight season, Houck has excelled while playing for Team USA. The rising junior led the Americans with 23.2 innings pitched this summer and had an earned run average of 2.66. Opponents hit only .205 against him. If his success continues next spring, he could be the first overall pick in next year’s MLB draft.
Bryce Montes de Oca, Cape Cod Baseball League (Falmouth Commodores): Montes de Oca has been successful in the nation’s best summer league.
