Undersized Mizzou has remodeled front line

COLUMBIA, Mo. • The extreme makeover of Kim Anderson’s Missouri basketball team didn’t make the Tigers any taller. A roster with six newcomers among its 12 scholarship players counts just five who are 6-foot-7 or bigger and only two taller than 6-9.

While Anderson’s team features much-needed depth and versatility in the backcourt, the Tigers don’t figure to tower over many opponents when the season begins Nov. 13 against Wofford. In expected offseason attrition the Tigers lost 6-11 senior forward Keanau Post, a junior college transfer who never became the post presence fans expected. In the department of unexpected turnover, Mizzou must replace 6-9 Johnathan Williams III, last year’s leading scorer and rebounder who transferred to Gonzaga after being the centerpiece to Anderson’s offense last year.
