COLUMBIA, MO. • Each whistle that interrupts another possession with Jeremiah Tilmon in Missouri’s frontcourt forces Tigers coach Cuonzo Martin to devise a contingency plan for his 6-10 sophomore center, who can’t stay on the floor, especially since the calendar flipped to 2019.
In the first half of Sunday’s loss at South Carolina, Martin might have stumbled on a promising strategy.
For the third straight game, Tilmon fouled out before making any kind of positive impact for the Tigers. This time, when his best inside player got in early foul trouble, Martin went small, smaller than usual.
