Tigers tumble in return home

COLUMBIA, MO. • A return to Mizzou Arena didn’t mean a return to winning ways for the Missouri basketball team Saturday. Back on Norm Stewart Court for the first time since beating South Carolina Feb. 16 for a second straight home victory, Mizzou's competitive return quickly turned into a Texas A&M onslaught. The 21st-ranked Aggies pulled away in the first half with a 16-3 run and never looked back in an 84-69 victory.

With just two games left, Mizzou fell to 10-19 and 3-13 in the Southeastern Conference. The Tigers can finish no better than tied for last place with Auburn in the SEC, and to do that they’d have to sweep Louisiana State (in Baton Rouge on Tuesday) and Florida at home next Saturday and Auburn must lose out to Texas A&M and Mississippi State.
