Against a Wichita State basketball program picking up the pieces of its previous coach’s problematic tenure, Missouri’s sloppiness didn’t cost it enough to ever be in doubt Sunday as the Tigers led almost the entire game and held on for a 72-62 win.
Mark Smith led the way with 19 points and six rebounds, and Dru Smith and Kobe Brown added 14 points each. Brown led the team in rebounds with seven before fouling out late. Mizzou is 3-0 for the first time under fourth-year coach Cuonzo Martin.
This time, with a more convincing offense, an experienced roster and a win over ranked Oregon earlier in the week, the Tigers have a case of their own for being a ranked team with an important week looming.
